The Intake Form
The SEO Intake Form will be the item of reference that our teams will use. The form has 3 sections that ask for information which will serve the different teams working on your campaign. So, it is very important, and beneficial for our clients, that we get the intake form accomplished in its entirety with as accurate information as possible.
The first section contains general information of the business or the NAP (Name, Address and Phone Number). This is most useful to Local SEO campaigns when creating local citations on directory listings, but also useful when optimizing the website.
The second section lists branding information to determine what the business is all about. This information helps our writers choose what to emphasize and highlight when talking about the client’s business and the services they offer. Our writers will be able to deliver spot-on articles that are geared towards the client’s business goals when this information is supplied.
The last section asks for content guidelines that will aid our writers on how to create content that follows the business’ brand persona and tone of writing. It is important for us to get this information so that our writers can write articles that properly represent the business.
Recommended Target Keywords
Your project manager will send recommended target keywords for your approval. These keywords are strategically selected according to the client’s business goals. These 2 items are the initial requirements to start an SEO campaign. Each one plays an important role for us to deliver quality service and the best possible result for your business.
Contact your project manager for more information on the SEO intake process.
On-Page and Off-Page SEO: Do I Really Need Both?
Do you really need both on-page and off-page for your SEO to work more effectively? The answer is simple, yet complex - It depends. We encounter scenarios where clients ask for help but after auditing or analyzing their website, we find out that they already have a solid on-page SEO foundation and all they need is a robust link-building strategy (a.k.a. off-page SEO).
So we don't force it down anybody's throat that they will still need on-page SEO to begin their campaign with us. Sometimes, we just have to listen to our client and match our service offers to their needs.
There are also situations where we can't do any link-building because of brand constrictions or corporate brand limitations. With that said, all that's left to do is to do on-page SEO.
Again, as long as proper expectations are set with our client(s) that we are dealing with, meaning that those particular clients are aware that they're not going to get optimal ranking results from just doing on-page SEO.
At the end of the day, it's all about knowing our client's needs and what they're expecting, plus being able to match what we offer to the said needs and objectives. Not all clients are full-blown SEO clients. Some of them will be one-off, on-page only or purely link-building.
What Should I Expect during the First Month of SEO?
In the first month of your SEO campaign, our team will be selecting the keywords for you based on the service that you purchased.
Once keywords are approved by you, our pool of in-house writers will create content based on these keywords. After the content is completed by the writers, we will create a document that includes the optimized content and meta data recommendations, which we will send to you for approval.
At the same time, we will be providing you a document that includes an overview of your site in terms of on-page metrics and what we can do to further increase your on-page viability. As part of our service, we do more than just implement the changes.
Part of our month 1 deliverables include the building of backlinks to support the keywords that we are optimizing for your website. Lastly, at the end of the month, we will provide you a report that will show the progress of the keywords that you have approved.
What is Link Diversity?
Why do we have backlinks from both high authority domains and lower authority domains if links from high domain authorities have more value? The answers to these questions and more may be simpler than you think.
Google, the primary search engine we optimize for, rewards natural or organic links. Therefore, a properly executed SEO strategy means that any backlinks need to either be acquired naturally or appear to be. One of the ways to accomplish this is with a backlink profile that includes an array of backlinks from various sources.
A good mixture of high domain metrics and relatively lower ones, topped with different types of content and backlinks. Follow/No Follow Additionally, pages rank better with Google when there is a good mixture of follow and no follow links. Having only follow links would appear unnatural and likely trigger Google to closer at your ranking tactics.
Aside from ensuring link diversity, another factor is keyword usage in optimizing your links. We need to ensure that the keywords are not repeated excessively. Remember, variety is the key.
When using keywords as anchor text, it should also follow variations in the linking patterns. Anchor Text One more thing to keep in mind is to never over-optimize the anchor text with keywords. This is why we have varying types of links and content every month: there is a healthy combination of branded and non-branded articles.
For branded articles like on-page blogs, press releases and videos, we only use the landing page. For non-branded articles such as guest blogs and editorials, we utilize them for keyword optimization. The takeaway is DIVERSITY is KEY.
